The renovation project aims to create a house that represent a home retreat from the overstimulating city life of Shanghai. The client asked for a design which could help to break with the noise and the stress related to his daily work. A quiet place that could provide him the feeling of lightness for reflecting about life, to avoid the pressure of time and feel like you are in a bubble. Therefore, a place where could be displayed his private collection of artworks. For these reasons the architects took inspiration from the Salar of Uyuni in Bolivia, considered one of the best places on earth for meditation and relaxation.
